Pregnancy: There are no or limited amount of data from the use of OMEGAFLEX Peri Emulsion for Infusion/OMEGAFLEX Special Emulsion for Infusion in pregnant women.
Parenteral nutrition may become necessary during pregnancy. OMEGAFLEX Peri Emulsion for Infusion/OMEGAFLEX Special Emulsion for Infusion should only be given to pregnant women after careful consideration.
Omegaflex Peri: Animal studies undertaken with a lipid emulsion containing twice the amount of omega-3 acid triglycerides and a correspondingly smaller amount of omega-6 triglycerides as compared to OMEGAFLEX Peri Emulsion for Infusion do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to reproductive toxicity (see Pharmacology: Toxicology: Preclinical safety data under Actions).
Omegaflex Special: Animal studies are insufficient with respect to reproductive toxicity (see Pharmacology: Toxicology: Preclinical safety data under Actions).
Breast-feeding: Components/metabolites of OMEGAFLEX Peri Emulsion for Infusion/OMEGAFLEX Special Emulsion for Infusion are excreted in human milk, but at therapeutic doses no effects on the breastfed newborns/infants are anticipated. Nevertheless, breastfeeding is not recommended for mothers on parenteral nutrition.
Fertility: No data from the use of OMEGAFLEX Peri Emulsion for Infusion/OMEGAFLEX Special Emulsion for Infusion are available.
